Cudahy St. Francis Little Baseball Association

Welcome - Chairman's Message

Parents:

Welcome to the Cudahy St. Francis Little Baseball Association (CSFLBA).  My name is Ron Pritzlaff.  After taking over as Chairman in November, there is much to report.  We’ve got some new initiatives this year that will make your experience even more fulfilling:

NEW THIS YEAR!!!

Players in our major league division will be playing on intermediate bases (i.e. 50-foot pitcher’s mound and 70-foot bases).  In this new format, the rules will change to allow lead offs, pick offs, and most other rules that apply to those playing on the standard size diamond (90-foot bases).  This exciting transition will not only provide players’ with a sound foundation for the next level, but position the league to remain competitive with neighboring communities and the select baseball environment.

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE 2017 SEASON IS NOW OPEN!!  Please visit our new website at http://csflba.activesports.com and register online.  Through online registration, you will be able to pay your registration fees and fundraiser buyout.  If you choose to participate in the fundraiser, those fees are due at in-person registration along with your volunteer deposit.

Ms. Nicole Martin has taken the reigns of the Girl’s Fastpitch program and will be aggressively promoting it in the coming weeks.  Take advantage of some of the most reasonable rates in Southeastern Wisconsin, come to the ballpark, and play some softball!

You’ll notice that the league fundraiser will be occurring a little later than normal.  In order to avoid overages in ordering the candy bars, the CSFLBA Board has decided to wait until after in-person registration to submit its order.  End State:  CSFLBA does not waste money by ordering too many boxes of candy.  That said, prizes will still be offered for our top sellers!!

Our managers and coaches act as our frontline personnel in making the CSFLBA experience a positive one for both players and parents.  The league requires and provides mandatory training for all managers and coaches.  During training, not only will player and team skill development be highlighted, but professional coaching strategies for being an effective leader and communicator will also be discussed.

The tournament team program (Cudahy St. Francis Lakesiders) has expanded to five teams:  9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, and 14U.  Winter practice for these teams will begin Sunday, January 8, 2017 between 11:30am and 4:00pm at the Milwaukee Baseball Academy.  We’re still looking to fill out our 9U, 10U, and 12U teams this year.  If you are interested, and are looking for extra competition playing weekend tournaments throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, please contact me.

The changes made for the 2017 season should make for an exciting year.  Spread the word about the great things happening in our league.  I look forward to seeing you at Ladish Park!!!
